June 3 Symposium in DC: Statistical Issues in Forensic Method Validation

Free symposium on June 3, 2026, 9AM-4PM, at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center (555 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC).

This is being organized by the American Statistical Association (ASA) Advisory Committee on Forensic Science. It is inspired by the excellent 2025 NIST Report on Validation in Forensic Science, and the 2019 ASA Position on Statistical Statements for Forensic Evidence. There will be panel discussions in the morning followed by working groups to map out important open research questions and propose steps toward solving them. Please reach out to Michael Rosenblum (mrosen@jhu.edu) with questions.
