The ISI (International Statistical Institute) is promoting a video competition open to all ISI and its Associations' (Bernoulli, IAOS, IASC, IASE, IASS, ISBIS, TIES) members and affiliated organisations' members. Participants are encouraged to submit a video that addresses a topic related to the overarching theme of INEQUALITIES, framed within the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The link is: https://www.isi-next.org/conferences/video-competition-inequalities/
From that link it is possible to check the list of affiliated/institutional/corporate organisations (including the American Statistical Association) whose members can submit a video.
Details on the submission (by 30/4/2026) are available in the website.
The winners will be announced in Malta during the ISI Regional Statistics Conference, 3-5 June 2026. https://www.isi-next.org/conferences/isi-rsc-malta-2026/
Inequalities
This theme can be interpreted broadly, encompassing any form of inequality, such as:
* Inequalities within and between countries, regions and communities;
* Issues related to any of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
* Disparities in opportunities linked to gender, age, origin, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, class, and religion;
* Communication inequality, as well as in the perception and application of scientific discoveries.
We welcome diverse interpretations and viewpoints on these important topics. The videos are intended for a global audience. The competition seeks to showcase how statistics can enhance public awareness and demonstrate the application of statistical methods and reliable data to tackle important contemporary issues, particularly inequalities. An essential aspect of this effort is communication, ensuring that the message is both scientifically valid and effectively conveyed.
Our goal is to encourage people to reflect on their daily lives and how they can make a difference in the world, to work towards eliminating inequalities by using statistics.
Best regards
