Dear ASA Members - I'm writing as a member of the project team for the American Statistical Association-George Mason University (ASA-GMU) Project on the Health of the Principal Federal Statistical Agencies. The goal of our project is to independently document the value of the federal statistics that we all know and love and proactively identify challenges and opportunities facing statistical agencies in reports and outreach efforts to Congress, OMB, and other stakeholders. Since federal statistics are intended to be used, input from data users is critical for achieving our goal. We are funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Annie E. Casey Foundation, and California Community Foundation.
We have developed a data user feedback form that we are distributing to various associations to send to their members. I'm hoping that ASA members who participate in ASA Connect and who use federal statistics will be willing to fill out our form. Providing input is totally voluntary and can take as little or as much time as you want to devote to it, but I cannot stress enough how important it is for our project to hear from users about their uses of and views about federal statistics. Here is the link: Federal Statistics User Feedback Form
Thank you so much in advance.
    Connie

    Dear ASA Members,

Thanks to the many of you who provide feedback on this request. For those who use federal statistics and haven't yet responded, please consider providing us your input using the Federal Statistics User Feedback Form.

As Connie noted, the goal of our project is to independently document the value of the federal statistics that we all know and love and proactively identify challenges and opportunities facing statistical agencies in reports and outreach efforts to Congress, OMB, and other stakeholders.

    Thank you,

    Steve
