Moving Towards a National Strategic Plan for Digital Twins Research and Development

This past December, the National Academies released Foundational Research Gaps and Future Directions for Digital TwinsThe report assesses the research and resources needed to support the development of digital twin technologies, identifies critical future research priorities, and presents an interdisciplinary research agenda for the field.

In response to the report's recommendations, the NITRD Digital Twins Fast-Track Action Committee, on behalf of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, is seeking public input for the creation of a National Digital Twins R&D Strategic Plan through July 28, 2024. This plan will act as an organizing national document, providing guidance for government investments in digital twins related research.
