The award recognizes a distinguished researcher for contributions to interdisciplinary survey research that have improved the theory and methods of collecting, verifying, processing, presenting, or analyzing survey data. This year, the award will recognize individuals who have advanced the utility and efficiency of sample surveys through the application of theories and methods from the statistical, computer, and information sciences.
The awardee will be selected by a joint ASA-AAPOR committee. The honoree will be invited to give the Sirken Lecture (an invited paper) at the 2026 JSM and receive a $5,000 honorarium and an award citation. Registration for the conference will be complimentary, but travel will not be covered.
