The Statistical Computing and Statistical Graphics Sections of the American Statistical Association are pleased to announce the 2026 Student Paper Competition.
This annual award recognizes up to four students for outstanding papers in the areas of Statistical Computing or Statistical Graphics. Papers may include original methodological research, novel applications, graphical studies, or software-related projects. Winners will be invited to present their work in a special session at the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) and will receive a $1,000 cash award.
Eligibility
Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students on or after September 1, 2025. The student must be the first author of the paper.

Abstract (≤250 words) - blinded

Six-page manuscript (including figures, tables, and references) - blinded

Letter from a faculty member confirming student status and contribution
