We are pleased to announce a special issue on Demonstrating Community-Sourced Replication and Meta-Analysis, published by Computer Science Education.
This call is motivated by the need for more replication studies and improved reporting practices in computing education research and is intended to be a welcoming entry point for conducting replications for both new and experienced community members. Submissions will replicate a previously published paper, A Randomized Controlled Trial on the Nomenclature of Scientific Computing. A replication package is provided, and replication papers, which describe the local context of the data collection, methodology, results, and observed differences, will be peer reviewed for methodological fidelity and rigor. Accepted replication studies will then contribute to a collaborative meta-analysis, providing both a mechanism for strengthening evidence in the field and an accessible pathway to gain experience with computing education and replication through participation in a shared, well-supported study.
