2001
Purdue University's Department of Statistics started STATCOM in response to Purdue President Martin Jischke's call to increase the university's engagement with the local area.
By 2006
STATCOM was named a Member Initiative of the American Statistical Association, and today STATCOM is a nationwide organization, with developed organizations at Purdue University, University of Washington, Cornell University, the Ohio State University, the University of Illinois and Urbana-Champaign, and here in Chicago at DePaul University, among others.
2008
STATCOM Chicago at DePaul University Served clients in Chicagoland with help of students from IIT, UIC, et al.
2017
We put much effort to successfully register with ASA and we became a combined student chapter bearing functions of ASA, which is more on the academic side,
and STATCOM, which focuses on the hands-on experience of our students. We hope to give participants experience beyond what they learn in the classroom.
