The Alaska Chapter of the American Statistical Association provides a community for statistically-inclined people working in Alaska. Many of our members belong to the ASA, but chapter membership is not limited to ASA members. This website serves as both a communication tool for our membership and to the general public.

 

Chapter Meeting, Events, and News

6/1/2022:
REGISTRATION is now open for the 2022 annual meeting for the Alaska Chapter of the American Statistical Association. Early registration rates apply through Wednesday, July 4, 2022

Our meeting this year will occur Monday - Wednesday, July 11-13, 2022, at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and will also be available online. Two short courses will be given: (1) Data Visualization with R; (2) Design and Analysis of Biological Monitoring.  Please visit the meeting page for more details or register for the meetings here


4/24/2020 update:
2020 Alaska Chapter of ASA annual meeting is now CANCELED. Business meeting will be held online.
Due to the health concerns associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our 2020 Alaska Chapter of ASA Meeting is canceled. Our annual business meeting will still be held on June 22, 2020 via teleconference. Details of the business meeting will be available soon. We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank our members for their supports and efforts.

Our meeting this year will occur Monday - Wednesday, July 20-22, 2020, at the Cold Climate Housing Research Center in Fairbanks, Alaska. Marie-Josee Fortin (University of Toronto, Canada Research Chair in Spatial Ecology) will give a two-day workshop on the topic of "Spatial Analysis and Network Theory Applied to Landscape Connectivity" on July 20 and 21.  Our chapter's annual business meeting will occur after member talks on the third day.
