Awards and Prizes

2021 Conference
Join us April. 23-24, 2021, for the Upstat Annual Conference.

Awards and Prizes

The UPSTAT 2021 conference features its signature awards and prizes mainly to students, aimed further encouraging a more active participation from students at all levels, from the high school level all the way to the doctoral level.

Besides the prizes given through the data analytics competition, there are also many other prizes given out to students for both oral and poster presentations, but also for organizing an entire session. The only awards and prizes to faculty members are mentorship awards described below.

Data Competition

Given to the teams that emerge as the top teams in the data competition. Includes Gold, Silver, Bronze, and honorable mentions.

Presentations

In recognition of (a) Excellent oral or poster presentation by a student of a statistical method (b) Excellent oral or poster presentation by a student of a compelling application of statistics or data science. Includes Gold, Silver, Bronze, and honorable mentions.

Young Scientific Leaders

Given to all students who organize a session and populate it with three presenters who do actually deliver their presentations.

Mentorship

Given to the professor who mentored the highest number of students to participate at the conference. Measured through the number of talks or posters co-authored by each faculty member.

Please note that you can only win an award or a prize if you actively participate in the conference. So do not delay. Register now, and submit your oral presentation or poster presentation as soon as possible. Even better, organize a session and show your future talent as a scientific leader.
