Chapter Visitation Program
The Chapter Visitation Program is probably one of the most visible means
by which ASA shows its support and concern for its Chapters. The
visitor is generally the ASA President, Vice President, Executive
Director, or a Council of Chapters Governing Board member. The purpose of the visit is to communicate with the Chapters on issues of concern to the Chapter and the Association. The visit is also expected to stimulate and revitalize Chapters by providing a prominent speaker.
Chapter Service Recognition Award
In 1991 the Council of Chapters established the Chapter Service Recognition Award. This award provides each Chapter with a way of acknowledging the extraordinary contributions made by a particular Chapter member. The award consists of a certificate, a presentation at the Awards Celebration session on Sunday evening during the Joint Statistical Meetings, and a listing in the JSM award program. On a rotating basis, each Chapter designates one member for the award every three years. The three year chapter rotation
pattern can be found here.Past winners.
