    Position Description:

    The Division of Biostatistics (DoB) at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) and the F& MCW Cancer Center (F&MCW-CC), seek an outstanding biostatistician with a track record of peer-reviewed, cancer-focused funding and strong leadership skills to serve as the Director of the F&MCW-CC Biostatistics Shared Resource. Qualified applicants will be considered for a tenure track Associate or Full Professor position in the Division of Biostatistics.

    The Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSSR) is composed of highly qualified biostatisticians with complementary expertise in statistical methods relevant to cancer research, and provides the F&MCW-CC research community with outstanding support in the design, conduct, and analysis of clinical trials and cancer-related basic, translational, and population studies. BSSR personnel develop novel methodologic approaches to address emerging analytic challenges, ensure the use of state-of-the-art statistical methods, and enhance the quality of science in the &FMCW-CC.

    Candidate Qualifications

    The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in statistics or biostatistics with a strong background in cancer-focused methods and collaborative research. Primary responsibilities include conducting cancer-related methodological research, assisting in developing extramural grant applications in collaboration with cancer center investigators, including SPOREs, program-projects, and other multi-project grants, providing mentorship and training to F&MCW- CC-affiliated junior faculty and hematology/oncology fellows, and participating in the DoB graduate education programs in biostatistics and data science.

    The DoB has 14 faculty members with diverse areas of expertise who are involved with a number of collaborative research groups across campus.  They have a successful and long-standing PhD program in Biostatistics as well as a new master's program in Biostatistics and Data Science.  The DoB is located within the MCW Institute for Health and Equity (IHE), which additionally has talented and diverse faculty in a range of public and community health research specialties including: Epidemiology, Geography, Econometrics, Sociology, Environmental and Global Health, Bioethics, and Community-Engaged Research.
