Peer Mentoring

Undergraduate Peer Mentoring

If you are an undergrad student and interested in learning more about graduate programs in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field, our members are here as a resource for you.  Our student members come from a variety of undergraduate and professional backgrounds and would be happy to share with you their reason for pursuing a graduate degree, how statistics plays a role in their education and future career goals, navigating the application process and selecting a school, and what graduate student life is like.

Bios for our undergraduate peer mentors will be posted soon!  In the mean time, click here to request a list of available student mentors.

Graduate Peer Mentoring

Peer mentorship available for 1st year students: please consider reaching out to one of our peer mentors to get some advice/feedback about school, work-life balance, or even just to vent about how stressful grad school can be!  These students have been where you are and understand the stress and imposter syndrome that is common in graduate school.  Send them an email or meet up -- they would be happy to grab a coffee/tea/juice or just chat on campus sometime. Do not not let these students' impressive resumes intimidate you.  They volunteered for this because they both understand well how overwhelming the first year can be and would have benefitted from some peer support themselves.
