MHS Section Webinar: Leveraging AI in the world of Academics/Research

Description: Darrick Mowrey of Google will present on the newest developments in artificial intelligence (AI).

He will specifically highlight AI applications that are relevant for statisticians in multiple settings. This presentation will include information on large language models (LLMs) and related approaches.

He will present on several use cases:
  1. Updates on LLM applications to improve statistical and general program coding
  2. Use of AI in educational settings, such as university-based and medical school teaching settings
  3. Agentic AI to aid in the tasks of statisticians and academics (e.g., applying AI to individual CVs to identify potential grant and business opportunities that match an individual's research experience).
He will also address audience questions.
