    Frontiers of Statistics: National Academies Virtual Symposium

    Statistics is critically important for research ranging from medicine to engineering, and new advances provide exciting opportunities for the field of statistics to flourish.  Explore the frontiers of statistics and discuss the future of the discipline at an upcoming National Academies' virtual symposium on the Frontiers of Statistics June 22, 2023 from 2-5pm ET. 

    During the symposium, speakers will engage in a forward-looking discussion about the state of the statistical sciences and emerging opportunities for the discipline and its stakeholders. Panelists will highlight cutting-edge research in statistics as well as the importance of statistical research and training for other disciplines.  The panel discussion will explore developments in machine learning and the statistical questions that motivate its growth, ways to foster interactions with domains that are enriched by the statistical sciences, and future areas of exploration for statistical research.
