    The U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research has a fellowship opportunity available for an established statistician/data scientist. The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse group of scientists and clinicians and provide support for both human and animal combat casualty care research.

    The participant should have the ability to work independently as well as with multidisciplinary teams of researchers, be a U.S. citizen, have at least a masters degree in statistics, applied mathematics, or data science, and 5+ years of work experience. Skills that are favorable include teaching advanced statistics or data science classes, calculating sample size/power, and preparing publication quality tables and figures. A thorough knowledge of the theory and techniques of applied statistical methods such as linear mixed models, generalized estimating equations, analysis of non-parametric data, and failure analysis are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong data management skills as well as knowledge of SAS programming language are highly desirable.
