    Post-doctoral Associate, Department of Biostatistics, Boston University School of Public Health

    Two-year, renewable post-doctoral position to work in the areas of infectious disease modeling (specifically applied to tuberculosis and COVID-19) and/or surveillance and monitoring of substance use disorders. The successful applicant will be part of a team of biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and clinician researchers, with primary mentoring by Dr. Laura White. 

    This position will allow for the development and implementation of advanced, innovative statistical and machine learning approaches in one or both of these areas of application. Additionally the position will allow for mentoring and supervision of doctoral and or MS students.  We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience with large administrative datasets, machine learning methods, Bayesian statistics, and/or infectious disease modeling. However, we will consider qualified applicants with relevant and related training and interest in these areas.  A PhD or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics, or related field, with good computing skills is required. 

    The position also has potential for teaching opportunities for interested applicants. Successful applicants are highly motivated, dependable, and have excellent communication and writing skills. Strong programming skills are required in R.  Experience with Linux cluster computing environment is strongly preferred.  

    Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in statistics, or biostatistics with strong computing skills. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.
