    Posted 07-28-2021 12:22

The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at the University of Southern California (https://pphs.usc.edu/) is recruiting to fill two tenure-track positions. Positions are available at all ranks, with preferences for early career candidates that have established interests in the fields of Environmental Biostatistics and/or Data Science. Central to the mission of the Division are the development of novel statistical methods, collaboration with other research groups in our Department, and education of the next generation of biostatisticians.

A PhD or Doctorate in biostatistics, statistics, computer science or related field is required. For the Data Science position, we seek an applicant with a demonstrated interest in statistical methods, deep learning and/or applications related to 'big data' that arise in genetic epidemiology, environmental epidemiology, public health, and/or clinical trials. For the Environmental Biostatistics position, we seek an applicant with a demonstrated interest in statistical methods and/or applications related to environmental epidemiology, respiratory health, cardiovascular health, and/or cancer; exposures of ongoing interest in our department include air pollution, tobacco smoke, alcohol, pesticides, metals, and diet, as well as various 'omic' indicators of exposure and genetic and genomic interactions with environmental risk factors.
