The Institute for Mathematical and Statistical Innovation (IMSI) is a mathematical sciences research institute funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The IMSI Summer Internship Program is hosted by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. It builds on the prior success of the NSF funded PI4 Summer Internship Program, launched in 2014. The program includes an intensive pre-internship training workshop and an interdisciplinary internship placement. Internship hosts will be primarily companies and scientific labs in Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, and the surrounding region.
Eligibility: This program is open to Ph.D. students in mathematics or statistics programs in the United States. Women and students from historically underrepresented US minority groups are strongly encouraged to apply. Participants must be eligible to work in the United States. The program is open to both US and international students based in the US. International students will be responsible for arranging work authorization (e.g. CPT) before starting the program.
Applications for the summer of 2022 are due by January 7, 2022.
