Following on from my question about collinearity, which seems to me the biggest problem with econometrics, I am now seeking an example to persuade a lay audience of the value of econometrics in application to policy-related questions. Can anyone supply a nice example, where the econometric results were highly credible and helped inform policy? P.S. Thanks very much to all who replied to my earlier question.
