    The Business and Economic Statistics Section (B&E) of the American Statistical Association (ASA) will offer up to four travel awards ($500 each) for students in doctoral programs in business, economics, econometrics, statistics, or allied disciplines. Support is offered for students to attend the 2016 Joint Statistical Meetings, to be held in Chicago, July 30 - August 4. Applicants should be planning to either present a paper in a B&E session or participate in a B&E poster session. Winners are also expected to attend JSM sessions.


    Applications will be accepted until December 22, 2015 and should be submitted electronically via e-mail to: David S. Matteson, B&E student travel award committee chair via e-mail: matteson@cornell.edu.

     1    Copy of most recent transcript (or equivalent report) from your university.
     2    Abstract of paper/poster (500 word maximum).
     3    Letter of support from faculty advisor or supporting B&E member (limit 2 pages).
     4    Cover letter describing your career goals and how you would expect to benefit by receiving this award (limit 2 pages).
