You can start and respond to conversations in any ASA Community group of which you're a member. This video looks at how to navigate conversations both here on the website and via email:

How to Start a New Conversation in an ASA Community Discussion Group

To start a new conversation in an ASA Community group, follow the steps below.  (To start a conversation in a discussion group, you will need to be a member of that group. All ASA members are automatically members of the ASA Connect discussion group. To become a member of a chapter or section discussion group, you must be a paid member of the chapter and section. If you have questions about which discussion groups you’re a member of, contact us.)

    1. Go to amstat.org.
    2. Click on the blue “Sign In” button in the top right corner of the page. (If you do not see this button, but instead see a gray silhouette or a photo of yourself in the top corner, you are already signed in. If you are already signed in, skip to step 3.)
    1. Sign in using the username and password you would use to sign in to amstat.org.
    2. Click on the “Communities” tab in the blue bar.
    1. Click on the “My Communities” tab in the drop-down menu that appears.
    1. Click on the name of the community you would like to post to, in the list that appears.
    1. Click on the green “Add” button next to the words “Latest Discussion Posts” on the screen that appears.
    1. Fill out the form that appears just as you would an email, including subject line and body text.
    2. Scroll down to the bottom of the completed form and click on the blue “Send” button.
    1. You have successfully sent a message and started a new conversation in an ASA Community discussion group! Your message will be sent via email to all ASA members who are subscribed to the community, and it will also appear in the discussion board on the ASA Community website. ASA members will be able to reply to it, and you will receive those replies via email.

If you have any questions, just contact us here or contact me directly at mailto:lara@amstat.org.
