    Hi everyone,

I just got my March issue of Amstat News!  I was pretty excited to look through and see THREE columns/features which we played a direct role.  Greg and Jack will share with our 'friends' list (see below).

    Posted for your reference.

    Dear fellow Applied Statisticians,

Have you received your March issue of Amstat News?  The Committee on Applied Statisticians (CAS) played an active role in bringing you three features!

Check out the Master's Notebook.  This month's column is written by applied statistician Chuck Kincaid.  Check it out online at  http://magazine.amstat.org/blog/2012/03/01/navigating-work-force-trends/

At JSM2011 the Committee on Applied Statisticians sponsored, organized and chaired an exciting session, "The World of Applied Statistics: Where Do YOU Fit In?"  The panel is summarized in the March edition of Amstat News and available online at STATtrak.  The session was held Thursday morning and drew nearly 40 attendees.  If you weren't able to attend, check out what panelists said: http://stattrak.amstat.org/2012/03/01/applied-statistics/

In 2012 the Committee on Applied Statisticians will sponsor a panel discussion "Strategic Career Planning for the Academic Statistical Scientist: Another Kind of 'Survival Analysis.'"  Reach out to CAS members Shari Messinger (SMessinger@biostat.med.miami.edu) or Marlene Egger (Marlene.Egger@hsc.utah.edu) for more details!
