Thanks for the agenda, I'm back from vacation and can provide an update on a few items:
1. we don't have many mentors or mentees at this point. Right now I am counting 5 mentees and 7 mentors in addition to all of us who agreed to mentor someone. Soooooo...and of those 5 mentees 2 of them asked to be both a mentor or mentee or said 'put me wherever is appropriate' so we are still in need of some mentees. Jennifer and Emily were asking if we could send out the invitation to a large group of people, and although there is debate about this I think a more important thing to do in all future communications is to put a due date in place. I just think people are busy and are thinking that they can always sign up later.
2. I do have one author lined up for the Amstat News, Whitney Murphy. I believe she plans on submitting by 9/1, but I can touch base with her closer to the date to verify this. She works at NORC. holds a Masters, and was very excited about the opportunity to write an article.
3. I can send a separate email to the hands on planning team (mentorship materials, etc.) and provide an update on where we are as well as materials that I've collected to-date. Richard, Keith, and John, we have a little work ahead of us as I haven't taken this very far...but we have some great materials which we can use to make our jobs a little easier.
Ok, that's the update for now. I'm looking forward to our meeting on the 8th.
