I want to highlight some of the excellent plenary sessions planned for SDSS 2025 in Salt Lake City from April 29 to May 2.
- On April 30, Julia Silge, data scientist and engineering manager at Posit PBC (formerly RStudio) will speak on Introducing Positron, a next-generation IDE for data science.
- On May 1, a panel discussion, “AI and Large Language Models—What Is the Impact on Students’ Statistical Education and Research?” is planned with Judith Canner of Cal State Monterey Bay, Jimmy Doi of Cal Poly, and Karl Pazdernik of the Pacific Northwest National Lab and North Carolina State University.
- On May 2, Shane Reese, ASA Fellow and president of Brigham Young University, will give a talk titled “Leadership Through a Stochastic Lens.”
