Announcing the 2011 Hindsight is 20-20 Poster Competition

The Section for Statistical Programmers and Analysts of the ASA is pleased to sponsor the Hindsight is 20-20 poster competition at JSM 2011. Entrants are encouraged to submit a poster to present at JSM highlighting a difficult programming obstacle and detailing the solution(s) devised to overcome the challenge. Focus should be on programming methodology and lessons learned. Posters will be judged at JSM in the categories of 1) usefulness of solution to the programming community; 2) scope of the statistical programming problem; 3) innovativeness of programming solution; and 4) ability of poster to clearly communicate the message.
Entries must be submitted through ASA’s abstract submission page prior to the February 1st deadline. In addition, an email must be sent to the SSPA poster competition representative by February 1st indicating intent to enter the competition. Submissions should be sent via email to Mike Carniello (mcarniello@tgrd.com) with the subject “SSPA Poster Competition”. All JSM 2011 attendees are welcome to enter the competition.
