Communications Officer

Responsibilities of the Communications Officer

The Communications Officer is appointed by the Chair.

1. Serve as a member of the COC and the COCGB. Attend the COC and COCGB meetings at JSM and the COCGB winter meeting.

2. Recommended: Work with Chair to prepare a written report for distribution to COC members and publication in Amstat News, Chapter Chatter and/or posting on ASA web site.

3. Serve as member of Charter Committee.

4. Oversee all Council publications.

5. With the assistance of ASA staff, prepare and distribute announcements and reports to Chapter officers and representatives, including: slates of nominees for office, announcements of election results, meeting announcements, reports of the Council Representative to the ASA Board, and any other reports of Council business which are of interest to the Chapters.

6. Attend Committee on Chapter Status meetings.
