Deep Learning is taking the world by storm as "the" algorithmic approach behind many of key advancements in applied machine intelligence. The voice recognition behind Alexa, Google Voice, and Siri all depend heavily on deep learning as do many of the personalization features behind the smart devices and services using by more and more consumers in their day to day lives.
Accordingly, the Statistical Consulting and Training Center at Marquette University is offering a workshop entitled "The Journey from Machine Learning to Deep Learning" on Friday, April 13, 2018. With many thanks to Direct Supply, Inc and Marshfield Clinical Research Institute, this workshop is offered for free to the public, all that is required is advanced registration. Included is breakfast and lunch for registered attendees!
This workshop is highly technical, first presenting machine learning in general, then deep learning specifically, then exploring several deep learning approaches with an exploration of code and packages using both Python and R-Studio. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops; while this will not be a hands-on session specifically, all the details about the environment and appropriate packages will be shared with attendees prior to the workshop.
Warmest regards,
Mehdi
