There are only 2 days left of matching donations for the David R. Cox Foundations of Statistics Award, a new award given out by the American Statistical Association (ASA) biannually

Donations are being matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000 until September 30, 2023. For gifts of $50 and above, you will be recognized as a "Friend of David R. Cox". We are just over half way to our goal.

To donate, please go to: David R. Cox Award (qgiv.com)

    ABOUT THE AWARD (Link):

The award was established in 2022 through an endowment created by Deborah G. Mayo (Philosophy, Virginia Tech) to honor the contributions of David R. Cox to the foundations of statistical inference, experimental design, and data analysis. The award is given in odd numbered years and includes a $2,000 honorarium and up to $1,000 that can be used for travel expenses to give an invited lecture at the Joint Statistical Meetings.

The goal of the award is to promote research and teaching that illuminates conceptual, theoretical, philosophical, and historical perspectives on statistical science and to advance understanding of comparative approaches to the interpretation and communication of statistical data.

NOMINATIONS: If you would like to nominate someone to receive the award, information on selection criteria and a link to a nomination form, can be found on the ASA website here. Nancy Reid, University of Toronto was the inaugural recipient of the award. You can find the slides to her invited lecture at this year's JSM here.

     Thank you!
