The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Statistical Association and Division of Biostatistics at Medical College of Wisconsin invite you to the chapter's 2025 Annual Meeting, which will be held on Friday April 11 at the Medical College of Wisconsin. This year's annual meeting will be held in a hybrid format and will feature talks by Sanjib Basu and Wes Johnson with a keynote address by Jim Berger.
Program:
- 12:30pm - 1:00pm: Registration
- 1:00pm - 1:05pm: Introductory remarks
- 1:05pm - 2:05pm: "Hypothesis testing, model selection, and some Bayesian perspectives" by Sanjib Basu
- 2:05pm - 3:05pm: "Bayesian alternatives to p-values; not perfect, but not a disaster" by Wes Johnson
- 3:05pm - 3:30pm: Social Break
- 3:30pm - 4:30pm: "Counterexamples relevant to understanding p-values" by Jim Berger (keynote)
- 4:30pm - 5:00: Q&A with panel of speakers
Location: This event will be held on the MCW campus in the Medical Education Building, Room M1060: The Alumni Center. The address is 8701 Watertown Plank Rd, Wauwatosa WI 53226. The closest parking lot is X-70 (Google Maps link here). The talks will also be broadcast over Zoom.
