The 2026 ASA Deming Lectureship Committee is reaching out to a broad range of colleagues in the statistical community to seek nominations for the 2026 Deming Lectureship Award.
The Deming Lecture is delivered each year at the Joint Statistical Meetings to honor the statistical and leadership contributions of W. Edwards Deming (1900–1993) and to renew attention to his stated goals:
"I aim to engage only in work that offers opportunity to create new statistical methods, or to use existing methods to help … improve … research; or to acquire new knowledge through planned research …; or to improve efficiency, uniformity, quality service, and performance of product; or to achieve smoother operation and more effective administration and management in industry and government."

In keeping with Deming's goals quoted above, the Deming Lectureship Committee heartily encourages nominations of colleagues who have made lively, thoughtful, and high-impact contributions to a wide range of statistical methodology, application, and leadership areas.
