    Dear ASA Members,

    We are pleased to announce the 2025 Fall Traveling Course hosted by the ASA Twin Cities Chapter.

    Date & Time: Friday, October 10, 2025 | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (CST)
    Venue: Zoom (link will be sent the day before the course)
    Course Title: Tree-Based Machine Learning Methods for Prediction and Variable-Selection
    Instructors:

    • Hemant Ishwaran, Professor of Biostatistics, University of Miami

    • Min Lu, Research Assistant Professor of Biostatistics, University of Miami

    This practical, hands-on workshop will highlight applications and result interpretation of tree-based machine learning methods. Participants will learn techniques for prediction, variable importance, and inference estimation using real-world datasets, with demonstrations in R (randomForestSRC, varPro).
