Dear all, 

I currently serve as the Nomination and Leadership Development Chair of Section U (Statistics) of AAAS. I am writing on behalf of the Section U steering committee to encourage members of the ASA community to nominate and self-nominate for elected leadership position(s) in the upcoming AAAS election. 

This year, Section U has one open elected leadership position: Early-Career Representative (one position) serves a two-year term (see here for a full description). See below for the full AAAS Call for nominations.

++++++++++ AAAS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS +++++++++++

Nominations and self-nominations are now open for organizational and Section leadership positions. Submitting nominations in the Fall 2025 AAAS Election is an outstanding opportunity to support the scientific community, build connections with peers in a given field, and help advance the AAAS mission.

Organizational leadership roles accepting nominations include the President-elect, Board of Directors, and the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee.

Nominations are also open for positions on Section Steering Committees. AAAS Section leaders represent their discipline or interest areas in cross-disciplinary conversation and collaboration in service to the AAAS mission and vision. They also participate in activities including the AAAS Fellows nomination and review process and proposing symposia for the AAAS Annual Meeting.

Elections are held each year for open positions. All nominees must be members of AAAS. For Section leader positions, nominees must also be members of the Section for which they are nominated.
