Please join us for the 6th Statistical Practice in Cancer Conference (SPCC), to be held at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, Friday morning through Saturday noon, February 16-17, 2024. Our Keynote speakers are Alan Agresti, University of Florida, "Simple Ways to Interpret Effects in Modeling Binary and Ordinal Data", and Sumithra Mandrekar, Mayo Clinic, "Analyses Leveraging Data from Alliance-Coordinated Clinical Trials to Inform Design, Conduct, and Endpoints", and Yang Xie, University of Texas Southwestern, "Data Science and AI in Cancer Research". Panel Discussions will be on: "The NIH Data Management and Sharing Plan at One Year Since Implementation: Lessons (Being) Learned for Cancer Research" (Moderator: Leslie Cope, Johns Hopkins University, with Heather Basehore for the NCI Office of Data Sharing, and "Issues on the Use of AI/ChatGPT Information in Biostatistics" (Moderator: Amanda Blackford, Johns Hopkins University).
The goal of this one-and-a-half-day conference is to enhance "best statistical practices" for cancer center biostatisticians. The emphasis is on practical solutions to challenges we often face and opportunities to gain efficiencies in our collaborations. Contributions are welcomed from any area of statistical practice in cancer, but the use of modern data science is a particular area of emphasis for the 2024 meeting.
Registration deadline is January 29, 2024 (abstract deadline has passed). Registration is free for this in-person meeting. The program is attached.
SPCC Planning Committee members are Leslie Cope (Johns Hopkins), Mithat Gonen (Memorial Sloan-Kettering), J. Jack Lee (MD Anderson), Ji-Hyun Lee (University of Florida), Sumithra Mandrekar (Mayo Clinic), Quincy Mo (Moffitt Cancer Center), Michael J.
