2023 Drug Development Conference Honoring Dr. Naitee Ting:

Exploring Dose Finding and Other Key Topics

We are delighted to announce a two-day conference on Dose Finding and Other Topics in Drug Development, to be held on June 8-9, 2023, at the Storrs campus of The University of Connecticut. The conference will honor Dr. Naitee Ting on the occasion of his 70th birthday, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the field of drug development.

The conference will bring together experts in the field of drug development to discuss current and emerging trends in dose finding and other key topics. We invite researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students to participate in this exciting event.

In 2006, the first book on dose-finding in drug development was published and edited by Naitee Ting. This pioneering work quickly became a leading reference in the field, earning high regard from Ting's peers. Building on the book's basic principles, significant advancements - such as FDA's Project Optimus - have occurred in the years since. The conference covers these important topics, as well as other related topics, and celebrates the 70th birthday of Naitee Ting who helped to pioneer this field of research.

The conference features five short courses covering diverse topics in drug development, including the use of real-world data with machine learning and statistics, combining information for causal inference, statistical topics in outcomes research, adaptive 2-in-1 design, and statistical translation of pediatric extrapolation. The keynote speakers for the conference are Dr. Jose Pinheiro of Janssen and Dr. Lee-Jen Wei of Harvard.

The conference provides a collaborative forum for stakeholders from various scientific disciplines to come together and share their research in a collegial environment. Our goal is to advance the science of dose finding in clinical trials, and to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices among attendees. The conference will take place at the University of Connecticut's Storrs campus, located in the beautiful countryside between Boston and New York City. As a major research and teaching institution, UConn provides the perfect setting for this important gathering of researchers and professionals.

It is a distinct honor to recognize Dr. Naitee Ting's many contributions to statistics and the pharmaceutical sciences at the Dose Finding and Other Topics in Drug Development conference.
