Has anyone here heard of the Comprehensive School Mathematics Program, a math curriculum for K-6? My daughter is starting out at a school that uses it, and what I've heard about it has made me very curious. It seems to make use of a visual language as a teaching tool, which sounds quite interesting, and in kindergarten my kid is already learning about graphs, which of course I love! On the other hand, some parents have told me their kids have had difficulty transitioning to algebra from this program. I'd love stories, positive or negative, or pointers to articles about it. The only mention I could find in Web of Science was an almost-forty-year-old review by Alan Hoffer in the American Statistician, which seemed positive.
