Could you provide a little more information including whether these are from the same data set?
To start, odds ratio is far preferable to relative risk. For either measure, multiplying or adding i.e. relative risk of cancer from smoking vs. not smoking from one study with RRcancer from asbestos exposure or not from another study would definitely produce the wrong interpretation.
