    Frederick Mosteller, 24 December 1916 - 23 July 2006

[BTW, during 1960-61, Dr. Mosteller gave groundbreaking nationwide lessons in Probability and Statistics on television. Called "Continental Classroom", it was televised by NBC at 6:30 AM, with Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays covering statistical material and Tuesdays and Thursdays being problem sessions. (It was (point) estimated that 1.2M persons watched these lectures, and 75K students took the "class" for credit at 320 colleges and universities, which is incredible given its early starting time.) Does anyone recall watching such?]

Sure, I watched Continental Classroom faithfully every day.  What other time does a mother of two kids under two have to herself?
