    Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biostatistics 

    Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship in biostatistics, with specific emphasis on correlated data (mixed models) with applications in infectious diseases. In particular, the successful candidate will develop novel statistical and mathematical models for infectious diseases to address some challenges in terms of projection and possible interventions due to COVID-19 pandemic. The position will be based at the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Mahmoud Torabi (http://home.cc.umanitoba.ca/~torabi/) and Professor Rob Deardon (http://people.ucalgary.ca/~robert.deardon/). 

    The successful applicant will have a PhD in Bio/statistics, or a related field. He/she will have strong skills in statistics, computing and mathematical modeling, and a demonstrated record of research. This position is partially supported by the recent funded project from NSERC Alliance COVID-19 Grants. 

    The salary is based on applicant's qualification and will be competitive. 

    The position will commence as soon as possible. It is a one year position with possible renewal for second year subject to progress on the research.
