Dear ASA Community
The recognition and celebration of the importance and value of Statistics and statisticians to our world is now further enhanced with the very recent addition of a new prize. Joining the International Prize in Statistics, established eight years ago by statistical societies including the ASA, is the Rousseeuw Prize for Statistics, established by the King Baudouin Foundation in Belgium. With this new award our profession will be acknowledged annually, because the new award will be given in even-numbered years while the International Prize in Statistics is awarded in odd-numbered years.
I encourage you to nominate colleagues for these awards. Nominations for the Rousseeuw Prize are due March 31. The deadline for International Prize nominations is August 15. Details regarding the prizes and nomination procedures are at the website links above.
