Good morning all - 

WI wanted to share an essay by Alexandre Loupy and Marc Raynaud on Med Page Today on the impact of the pandemic on research publications. While the focus of the piece is on medical research, the observations can seen in other areas impacted by the pandemic, include economics and social justice channels.

Some of the points include:

• A huge growth in the amount of research, impacting editorial boards
• More small papers, especially with many authors, giving case studies and fewer detailed fully developed studies - this reflecting the urgency during the pandemic to get new research out to the community during the pandemic
• A reduction in research publication in areas other COVID
