The ASA Statistical Learning and Data Science Section is pleased to announce March webinar, presented by Dr. Zhenyu Zhao on March 31, 2022.
Title: From Experimentation to Causal Learning
Speakers: Zhenyu Zhao, Ph.D., Data Science Director at Tencent for global games
Date and Time: March 31, 2022, 2:00 to 3:30 pm Eastern Time

Abstract:
Nowadays, experimentation is an essential method for making decisions and improving user experience based on causal effects in the tech industry. In the meanwhile, causal learning has been gaining momentum in the recent few years. This talk will discuss the key concepts, industry examples, and methods for experimentation, as well as introduce an open-source python package for causal learning: CausalML.
Outline:
1. What is A/B Testing?
2. Experiment Examples
3. Statistics Behind Experimentation
4. Experimentation System – How does it work?
5. Experimentation Beyond A/B Testing
6. Intro to CausalML: Open Source Package for Causal Learning
Presenter: Zhenyu received his Ph.D. in Statistics from Northwestern University and has worked at Uber and Yahoo before joining Tencent. His expertise covers experimentation, causal inference, modeling, product analytics, and data platform solutions. He co-founded the CausalML open source project, which focuses on providing complementary and practical solutions for causal learning, such as uplift modeling and observational causal inference. The package has reached more than 700k downloads on Github.------------------------------
