Journals are vital to the ASA's mission of promoting the practice and profession of statistics, and Editors are at the heart of ensuring our publications continue to be world leaders in statistics research and applications.

If you or someone you know would be a great fit for one of the following Editorships, please send your application or nomination to eric@amstat.org by January 11, 2021.

Editor, Journal of the American Statistical Association, Applications and Case Studies

Term: 2022-2024, with the transition beginning July or August 2021

The Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA) has long been considered the premier journal of statistical science. The Applications and Case Studies section publishes original articles present analyses for real datasets that are statistically innovative as well as scientifically and practically relevant; contribute substantially to a scientific field through the use of sound statistical methods; present new and useful data, such as a new life table for a segment of the population or a new social or economic indicator; use empirical tests to examine or illustrate an important application of a valuable statistical technique.

For more information about JASA, see Aims and Scope and the Editorial Board.

Editor, Journal of Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Statistics,

Term: 2022-2024, with the transition beginning summer 2021

JABES publishes articles of immediate and practical value to applied researchers and statistical consultants in the agricultural, the biological (including biotechnology), and the environmental sciences (including those dealing with natural resources).

For more information about JABES, see Aims and Scope and the Editorial Board.

Co-Editors, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics

Term: 2022-2024, with the transition beginning July-September 2021

JBES publishes a range of articles, primarily applied statistical analyses of microeconomic, macroeconomic, forecasting, business, and finance related topics. More general papers in statistics, econometrics, computation, simulation, or graphics are also appropriate if they are immediately applicable to the journal's general topics of interest. Articles published in JBES contain significant results, high-quality methodological content, excellent exposition, and usually include a substantive empirical application.

For more information about JBES, see Aims and Scope and the Editorial Board.

Editor, Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics

Term: 2022-2024, with the transition beginning July or August 2021

JCGS presents the very latest techniques on improving and extending the use of computational and graphical methods in statistics and data analysis. Established in 1992, this journal contains cutting-edge research, data, surveys, and more on numerical graphical displays and methods, and perception. Articles are written for readers who have a strong background in statistics but are not necessarily experts in computing.

For more information about JCGS, see Aims and Scope and the Editorial Board.

    Editor, Journal of Nonparametric Statistics

Term: 2022-2024, with the transition beginning July or August 2021

JNPS, published by Taylor and Francis, provides a medium for the publication of research and survey work in nonparametric statistics and related areas. Both the theory and applications of nonparametric statistics are covered in the journal. Research applying nonparametric methods to medicine, engineering, technology, science and humanities is welcomed, provided the novelty and quality level are of the highest order.

For more information about JNPS, see Aims and Scope and the Editorial Board.

    Editor, Journal of Statistics Education

Term: 2022-2024, with the transition beginning July or August 2021

JSE disseminates knowledge for the improvement of statistics education at all levels, including elementary, secondary, post-secondary, post-graduate, continuing, and workplace education. It is distributed electronically and, in accord with its broad focus, publishes articles that enhance the exchange of a diversity of interesting and useful information among educators, practitioners, and researchers around the world. The intended audience includes anyone who teaches statistics, as well as those interested in research on statistical and probabilistic reasoning.

For more information about JSE, see Aims and Scope and the Editorial Board.

    Editor, Statistics and Public Policy

Term: 2022-2024, with the transition beginning July or August 2021

SPP is an open-access journal publishing papers that apply strong statistical methodology to problems in the realm of public policy and /or relevant political science.  Articles may address international, national, or local policy questions, and the emphasis is upon the application rather than methodological novelty.

For more information about SPP, see Aims and Scope and the Editorial Board.

Technometrics contributes to the development and use of statistical methods in physical, chemical, and engineering sciences as well as information sciences and technology. These include developments on the interface of statistics and computer science such as data mining, machine learning, large databases, and so on. The journal places a premium on clear communication among statisticians and practitioners of these sciences and an emphasis on the application of statistical concepts and methods to problems
    that occur in these fields.
