    The Statistics in Sports section of the American Statistical Association would like to announce their sponsorship of the 2017 undergraduate research speed session/poster contest to be held at the Joint Statistical Meeting in Baltimore, MD. The competition will be open to all undergraduates who have been doing sports and statistics related research. Not only will students present a poster in electronic form, they will also give a four minute oral presentation highlighting their research during a "speed session" the same day. Cash prizes will be awarded to the outstanding undergraduate research presented during this session at the Joint Statistical Meetings, July 29-August 3, 2017.

    Deadline for abstract submission is February 1, 2017 and can be submitted a the Joint Statistics Meeting website (https://ww2.amstat.org/meetings/jsm/2017/abstracts/index.cfm). When submitting your abstract, select select session type: Contributed, subtype: Speed. You should also select "Statistics in Sports" as the session sponsor. Please also email the SIS Program Chair for JSM 2017, Stephanie Kovalchik (skovalchik@tennis.com.au) to let her know you have submitted an abstract for the competition.
