    The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine (http://pqhs.case.edu/) seeks to fill an open rank (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) and open track (Tenure or non-Tenure) faculty position in Biostatistics. Rank and tenure status will be determined based on applicants' background and expertise.

    We are looking for expertise that complements our current areas of departmental research (statistical genomics, complex longitudinal statistical modeling, modeling and health impact of environmental factors, correlated data analysis, big data analytics, and causal inference). Preference will be given to those with strong experience in designing and analysis of clinical trials data and/or ability to fund and run a coordinating center. Expertise in and ability to work with multidisciplinary research teams is expected. Candidates should have a strong record of research in biostatistics in one or more of: investigator-initiated studies, company-sponsored trials, collaborative group studies, and content knowledge of trial design from the regulatory, biological/clinical, and statistical perspective. Examples of specific diseases or health issues of interest include: CVD, cancer, diabetes, obesity, infectious disease or other research topics relevant to communities. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree is expected in biostatistics or a relevant quantitative discipline.

    Preference will be given to candidates with established external funding and a strong record of publications reflecting independent and/or collaborative research programs, especially those who could advance/collaborate with existing departmental and institutional research. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a track record of extramurally-funded research as Principal Investigator and/or as a collaborator.  There are also opportunities to contribute to the Department's MS in Biostatistics program, PhD program in population and quantitative health sciences and MPH program. 

    The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences offers research and graduate education in biostatistics and bioinformatics; genetic epidemiology; global and environmental health; health promotion and prevention; public health; health services research. The Department (http://pqhs.case.edu/) is currently growing under the leadership of a new chair and newly established institute, The Institute for Computational Biology (http://www.icompbio.net/). Case Western Reserve University and its associated hospitals (University Hospitals/Rainbow Babies, MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic, and VA Medical Center) provide a rich environment for basic science, clinical, and population health research. Research is promoted through multiple research centers within the CWRU including the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (www.prchn.org), Comprehensive Cancer Center, Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC, http://casemed.case.edu/ctsc/), Cardiovascular Research Institute, Tuberculosis Research Unit, and Center for Global Health and Diseases (http://www.case.edu/orgs/cghd/).
