    Dear Colleagues:

We would like to bring this opportunity to the attention of the Statistics Community.

Apply to participate in a unique activity by March 4.   We invite researchers working on important data-intensive science and engineering problems to apply to participate in one or more interdisciplinary Ideas Labs as part of NSF's Harnessing the Data Revolution Big Idea (https://www.nsf.gov/hdr).  A 2-page preliminary proposal application is due March 4, to enable participation in Data-Intensive Research in Science and Engineering (DIRSE) Ideas Labs (https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2019/nsf19543/nsf19543.htm).

Ideas Labs are intensive, interactive workshops where a diverse group of participants from a range of disciplines and backgrounds come together to develop innovative, interdisciplinary collaborative proposals through a real-time and iterative review process.

The DIRSE Ideas Labs will facilitate the formation of these interdisciplinary teams by recruiting participants from both the research (all science and engineering disciplines) and technical (computer and computational science, mathematics, statistics, and information science) domains.

Ideas Labs are especially suited to individuals who are willing to step outside of their particular area of interest or expertise, enjoy creative activity, can think innovatively, and are open to, or seeking, new collaborations.  Individuals at any career-stage are welcome to apply.  If you have any questions, please email the DIRSE Program Officers at HDR-DIRSE@nsf.gov

    Thank you.
