Clemson University's Department of Public Health Sciences, in collaboration with the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, is currently seeking candidates for a 1 or 2 year postdoctoral fellowship.
Position Title: Public Health Modeling Postdoctoral Fellow
Duties and Responsibilities: The postdoctoral fellowship will focus on developing and implementing quantitative methods to model COVID-19 disease transmission in universities and surrounding communities, along with modeling the impact of public health strategies to reduce disease transmission and inform COVID-19 vaccination distribution. The postdoc will be expected to be an active member of Clemson University's public health strategy and modeling team, lead quantitative publications for the models developed, and collaborate (or lead) on publications in public health and policy journals.
Supervision: Applications will be under the supervision of Dr. Lior Rennert (Biostatistician, Department of Public Health Sciences) and Dr. Christopher McMahan (Statistician, School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences). The position is funded by Clemson University.
Position Qualifications: Candidates should have a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field. Strong computational skills are required. Start date and term are negotiable. Candidates will also have option to work remotely.
