  • 1.  The $3M USD Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics

    Posted 02-14-2019 23:01

Do you know that Mark Zuckerberg and Yuri Milner established a Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics in 2014 that carries a cash award of $3M? The Prize is for an individual who has made breakthrough contributions to the field of mathematics during the last decade. You can find a list of winners since 2015 here

Anyone can nominate a candidate during the open nominations period. Nomination procedure can be found at Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics. The deadline for the 2020 Prize nomination is April 1, 2019 at midnight PDT. Self-nominations are not allowed.

We encourage you to consider nominating a worthy colleague for this award. It is prestigious, and it is quite a prize! Up to three recommendation letters are allowed to support a nomination. The External Nominations & Awards Committee of the ASA is willing to assist a nomination by supplying an ASA support letter. If multiple nominations are brought to the committee's attention (christyazo@gmail.com), we will select one to support.

So, dream big and take actions.
