    Dear Colleagues,

The recordings of all (and slides of most of) the talks in the ASA-JDS webinar series, "Data Science in Action in Response to the Outbreak of COVID-19", are archived at UConn Statistical Data Science Lab: https://statds.org/events/webinar_dsa2020/schedule.html
The series started on April 17, 2020 with Dr. Peter X.-K. Song and concluded on July 24 with Dr. Bin Yu, a total of 14 webinars. Over a thousand attendees registered cumulatively. We thank all the presenters and attendees for joining us on this platform and contributing to the battle with COVID-19.

A special issue of the Journal of Data Science (JDS) on "Data Science in Action in Response to the Outbreak of COVID-19" was released on July 21, 2020 (see current issue at http://jds-online.org). Co-guest-edited by Drs. Peter X.-K. Song, Dean Follmann, Hansheng Wang, and myself, the issue features 8 articles, including two discussion papers. Authors of three papers presented part of their works in this ASA-JDS webinar series. Another special issue on the same theme is accepting submissions.

The JDS is partnering with the Data Science Conference on COVID-19 (DSCC-19): https://sites.google.com/view/dscc-19/home, a one-day virtual conference on Friday, August 28, 2020.  DSCC-19 will showcase open source technology and code used to model and analyze the COVID-19 pandemic and will highlight best practices in replicable and reproducible science. Registration is free. The deadline for abstract submission is August 13. Full papers of the submissions to the conference have the options to be considered in the next special issue of the JDS.

A reformed Journal of Data Science for the era of data science awaits your contributions on COVID-19 and beyond!
