Apologies for cross-posting, this is a message on behalf of the organizing committee of the 2020 Orange County Biostatistics Symposium.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the 2020 Orange County Biostatistics Symposium has been canceled as scheduled on 16-17 Oct and will be scheduled in 2021 when the situation gets back to normal. In the meantime, the Committee is pleased to host a series of webinars with selected topics as part of the ongoing Symposium series. We are happy to host the below webinar on 6 Nov 2020.
Date: 6 Nov 2020, 10:00 – 11:40 AM PT
Title: Application of statistical inference through data science techniques
Venue: Virtual Meeting through Zoom conference
This is a 2020 Orange County Biostatistics Symposium Series event to present applications of data science techniques and tools to statistical inference making. The webinar focuses on various techniques such as machine learning methods, predictive biomarker algorithm, etc in the area of biomedical sciences.
Program Overview:
- Introduction: Gajanan Bhat, Chair, Orange County Biostatistics Symposium, Spectrum Pharmaceuticals
- Session Chair: Kitty Guo, Abbvie
- Applied machine learning methods in evidence synthesis – Lauren Cappiello, UC Riverside
- Identifying the best predictive biomarker in pharmacogenomics – Song Zhai, UC Riverside
- Variance estimation for the kappa statistic in the presence of clustered data and heterogeneous observations – Mary Ryan, UC Irvine
- Type of data and methods used in translational neuroscience and potential impact for statistical analysis – Beth Lopour, UC Irvine
